A couple of years back my friend Tom was diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma. Luckily, he was able to "kick cancer's ass," as he so badassly puts it, and has been in good health for a while now. Since then he's gone on to work for Lance Armstrong's LiveStrong foundation and he continues to help the cause of kicking cancer's ass wherever he goes.

On October 31st he will be running the Marine Corps Marathon in Washington, D.C. He will be running as part of Austin's own Team Hole in the Wall. As part of their team he is raising funds to further the mission of the Hole in the Wall Gang: to provide children with cancer and other serious illnesses and conditions a camping experience of the highest quality, while extending year-round support to their families and health care providers.

To celebrate this, Tom is throwing what he calls a MASSIVE dance party at The Scoot Inn this friday. $8 gets you in and helps provide an empowering Hole in the Wall Gang Camp experience for a seriously ill child.

I've gone to some of his dance parties, and...how should I put this? I still have not been able to wash the dance-party sweat out of the clothes I wore. Does that sound gross to you? If you REALLY know how to party, it shouldn't. You shouldn't even flinch. You should know how it is, jamming some serious jams all night long. And for a good cause? Come on.

Drink specials all night long. Bring your friends! Cut a rug! Change a life! Come meet my friend Tom and make a new buddy! He is seriously one of the coolest guys in this great city of ours.

The party starts at 8pm. See you there!

Background Props Name

Background Props Productions was a name I came up with for some friends of mine and I to make movies under. You can call it a "Production Company", but it was about as low budget as it gets.

My friend James created alot of the content (the video titled "Sexual Harrasment - A Good Thing?" was completely created by him) and I handled all of the technical aspects - again, extremely low budget.

All of the videos I've made have some form of copyrighted material on them so I have not put them on YouTube yet, but I definitely want to put them up here.

If you want to look at them before I get a chance to put them on the blog just go to:

JOB

Today is roughly 2 months in to my Austin Job search. I know there are jobs here. I know I can get them, but here's the catch... Do I sacrifice a bit of my myself, my heart, my integrity to get to where I ultimately want to go? I have dreams, passions, goals. So where to begin? These are tough questions for me. My father worked hard, very hard, his entire life. This is in me. I am not sure what his dreams were, but I know he did what he had to do for us. I have spent years talking my way out of chasing down the things I am passionate about, but I think those days are done. I was told once that in every life changing decision we make, we choose to act either out of the fear we feel, or in spite of it. For me... It's time to start living out of spite...

I showed up to this party with a bottle of Tanqueray and a shotgun....and showed those people the time of their life!
